Have you been to Cebu, Philippines?

Have you been to Cebu, Philippines? if you are planning to visit Cebu here are some info's about Cebu....

Cebu is one of the most developed provinces in the Philippines, with Cebu City as the main center of commerce, trade, education and industry in the Visayas.

Cebu is known as the Queen city of the south... and its the oldest city in the Philippines. Cebu then known as Zubu (or Sugbo) was an island inhabited by Hindus, Buddhists, animists and Muslims ruled by Rajahs and Datus.

If you're planning to visit Cebu try to visits this places:

1. MACTAN SHRINE/ LAPU - LAPU SHRINE:

Souvenirs Shop's
2. PLAZA INDEPENDENCIA
near the Plaza there's also Fort San Pedro

Fuerte de San Pedro is a military defence structure, built by Spanish and indigenous Cebuano labourers under the command of Spanish conquistadorMiguel López de Legazpi and the Spanish Government in Cebu. It is located in the area now called Plaza Indepedencia, in the pier area of the city. The smallest, oldest triangular bastion fort in the country was built in 1738 to repel Muslim raiders. In turn, it served as a stronghold for Filipino revolutionaries near the end of the 19th century. This served as the nucleus of the first Spanish settlement in the Philippines.

3. BASILICA DEL SANTO NINO
The Minor Basilica of the Holy Child (SpanishBasílica Minore del Santo Niño), commonly known as Santo Niño Church, is a minor basilica in Cebu City in the Philippines that was founded in the 1565. It is the oldest Roman Catholic church established in the country on the spot where the image of the Santo Niño de Cebú, a statue depicting the Child Jesus was found in 1565 by Spanish explorers led by Miguel Lopez de Legazpi. The Holy See calls the temple the "Mother and Head of all Churches in the Philippines" (mater et caput... omnium ecclesiarum Insularum Philippinarum). The image is the same statue given by Ferdinand Magellan to the wife of Rajah Humabon as a gift over forty years after Humabon's baptismto Christianity on April 14, 1521. It was found by a soldier preserved in a burnt wooden box after Legazpi razed the village of hostile natives. When Pope Paul VI made the church a basilica in 1965, he said it was "the symbol of the birth and growth of Christianity in the Philippines.
Beside the Church you will find the Magellan's Cross brought by Ferdinand Magellan
to introduce the Christianity to the Filipinos.

Osmeña Peak, Dalaguete Mantalungon

If you like some adventure in Cebu try to do some trekking in Osmena peak in Dalaguete, Cebu

Osmeña Peak

Osmeña Peak is located in the Municipality of Dalaguete in the province of Cebu. The peak is approximately 1000 meters above sea level making it the highest.

How to get there:

South bus terminal you ride a ceres bus that goes to alcoy or oslob. Just tell the driver to drop you by going to Osmena peak/Vegetable highway.

Fare going to Osmena peak:

South Bus Terminal :
       Ceres Bus regular: P100
Ceres Bus aircon: P100+ (not sure for the fare because I dont like riding an aircon bus ^_^ hihi)

For my fare from my hometown in Carcar it cost me P53 going there for a total of P106 back to my home.

when you arrive at the destination there's a motorbikes there that you can ride or known as "Habal-habal". Some of them will give you a price for P50/head until their vegetable market and if you want to stop near the feet of the peak it will cost you P100/head that's for a one way trip.

To be honest, the climate their is nice. a little bit cooler in hot season and cold in rainy season. But I advice you to bring some mask or something that can cover up your face because there's a part of the road is still under constructions and the dust will give you a free face powder :D and bring also some extra shirts and water if you only want to go there for a day.

If its your first time to go there, you don't need to worry you can have a little tour guides~ hihi they're kids you can pay them any amount you like and my friends we gave him around P250 pesos.
stress reliever~ the view is perfect to relax.

If you wanted to camp their you can bring your tents and stay for overnight.... and on the next morning you can go to the kawasan falls... they're just connected... according to our tour guide if you walk going there it takes an hour if you ride the habal-habal maybe for 30 minutes. me and my friends is planning to go back and stay for overnight so that we can experience the trekking going to kawasan falls in Badian.
